Most of us like traveling. Exploring new places, eating different cuisines and just feeling excitement- traveling is wonderful .And if you can write about your journeys, well then you can try your hands on travel writing. There are many books written by various travel writers. You can also write for travel magazines and websites if you have a flair for writing and passion for traveling. But if you think that this genre of writing is similar to laying on a bed of roses, then its time to get some facts right.

1) If I write my travel experiences, I will become a travel writer: Well firstly, writing some of your travel experiences will not make you a travel writer. You need to follow a proper style of writing for the same and that will not happen in one day.

2) Travel writers make big bucks: Although there are writers make a living with this genre of writing, they are a minority. Its not easy money and you cannot rely only on this genre of writing for your livelihood.

3) Editors crave for stories: There are many writers to write, it’s a race. So do not think that you can get through easily with a magazine or a newspaper.

4) A destination is a story: Sorry, not all destinations will give you a good story. If you are talking about a virgin village in Africa or a rainforest in Brazil, then you may proceed. But if you just want to keep talking about the Shahjahan-Mumtaz tale of love that Taj Mahal exhibits or the White House, then you probably don’t have a place here! As a writer, your story will be appreciated only if you discover a less visited place. And even if you are writing about frequently-visited places, then make sure that you come up with an unexplored fact.

5) Readers want to know it all: Readers are not interested in knowing each and every minute of your journey. You just have to describe the important details. In case you want to share personal experience then make sure that they are really unique ones, especially the ones that are related the local people. For example you can write on how locals help in guiding people that are often lost in remote villages or areas.

6) Travel magazines want long stories: This is a very common myth that most writers have. Hence, they go on and on about their experiences. Try and keep your article short by giving out only important details.

Enjoy your journey and give your readers a feel of traveling through your writing.

All great writers are subjected to mistakes. So why would you be an exception?

There are many aspects that go unnoticed when a writer is on a typing spree. Let’s break it down to see what we neglect in the process of creating great content.

• Misspelling of the client’s name sits on top of the pyramid for mistakes committed.

• Writers often tend to leave out a certain letter within a sentence without knowing the true essence of it. This could eventually change the entire definition of that phrase. E.g. – ‘I’m too tired to work. ‘I’m to tired too work.’

• You may sometimes go ahead and miss out on an entire word as well. If you wouldn’t want someone bugging you, would you say – ‘I want you irritating me.’? (The absence of the word ‘don’t’ changes the entire meaning here).

• Remember, you are a professional content writer. Your tone must support a corporate-like nature to make your content sound serious. Slang and casual language only creates an unfavorable impression in the clients mind about your company.

• Never try lead-on sentences unless they are necessary. Conjunctions must be avoided if it does not thoroughly promote what you want to say. The ‘ands’ ‘ors’ and ‘buts’ must be utilized only when the occasion calls for it.

• Monotony in content leads to boredom for readers. Overuse of the same words does not entice customers on your web page. Experiment with different words that have a similar meaning.

A content writer must pay detailed attention to the smallest aspects in an article as they could prove to be turning points in a website.

Brochures are considered one of the most important marketing tools online today. Customers can easily browse through all pages and get insights and knowledge about your product and services. Brochures are considered as the face of a brand or company.

Despite the impact created by the internet, the true identity of newspapers and print industry has not yet diluted. The following guidelines shall help you churn out quality brochures.

• Brochures are designed with the objective of selling. This could be a company service or a product or promoting a brand. If brochures are multiple, each one of them must be distinctive in nature. Each brochure must be able to create a desirable image of a company or product effectively.

• The target audience must be clearly defined. The tone must be altered in accordance to customers, shareholders, associates, retailers etc. A brochure must cater to the purpose of persuading your audience, whomsoever they may be.

• Tap the main features of your product. Identify the aspects that distinguish them from market competitors. This enables you to create interesting and gripping brochures. It must be convincing to the customer that could eventually turn into a sale.

• Always write with the perspective of the reader or customer in mind. Picture yourself in the reader’s shoes and ask this question “Would I buy the product after reading such a brochure?” You will definitely have an answer at the end of it.

• Brochures may sometimes be lengthy to read. If they include many pages, the level of interest of the reader may decline gradually. This is why you need attractive and catchy phrases in a brochure. The reader must have his eye glued from the beginning to the end of the brochure. Write in a language or tone that the reader can identify with. You have half your job done right there.

A brochure that can convert to sales or at least a call-to-action from the customer/ reader is the ideal one.

Your website would be really attractive, eye-catching and informative. The readers would be all enthralled with the view but the whole point is that the users should know that your website exists!

Unless it gets optimum traffic and ranks higher on search engine results, it will not even be viewed easily by the users. Thus it is not only important to have a captivating website with a good content, but also your website should be amongst the top search ranks. Here comes the role of SEO copywriting. SEO copywriting would mean writing a good content with the correct usage of some keyword that would boost your website’s search engine rankings. And though that would seem difficult and monotonous, there are certain key steps to write good SEO content.

• Good content: search engines love useful, well written and out of the box content. Writing a good, keyword-rich article will ensure that your page is ranked higher. That will ensure that more readers will go to your website. If readers found your website useful, then they will suggest it to more people who are in need of content. The content area of your page can be around 300 words, and be rich in keywords.

• Using different keywords: If your content repeatedly uses the same keywords, the users will feel that you are just repeating the words for the sake of repeating it. Also the search engines will not entertain your page because they will feel that your article is not very useful. On the contrary, if you use a wide range of vocabulary, topic-related of course, then the search engines will surmise that the article is useful and versatile.

• Using synonyms: It is important to use synonyms of your keywords in addition to the keywords you are targeting. That will again interest the search engines.

• Keyword density: Knowing keyword density is extremely important to know what keywords should be used more, so that you can write your content accordingly. There are certain keywords that catch the search engine’s attention. So you can use such words in the beginning, in most paragraphs and somewhere near the end as also in the subheadings and titles. Stuffing your writing with keywords is a strict no -no. This is considered spam by search engines.

• Bold, italics, underlined: When you emphasize a word by using either of these commands, the search engines assume that it is a keyword.

• Numbered lists: Numbering your articles is also important and a good tactic. Example” 6 ways to increase sales”.

• Linking your articles: Interlink your articles as your website will get more exposed.

• Using key phrases in strategic ways also help you to retain higher rankings.

SEO Copywriting is a skill. You learn it over a period of time with practice. Just make sure that you try and increase your website’s rankings by providing good and keyword-rich content.

Advertising copywriting is not only about persuading a customer into a store but convincing him to buy a product.

So what makes a copy sell? Exceptional and commanding language? Insightful information? Explanatory content? Well, it is in fact all of the above combined. It is essential for an advertising copy to be gripping enough to persuade a customer to look into the product, if not, buy it.

How many of the numerous salesmen knocking on your door do you entertain? You would most probably be yelling your lungs out on them often. It could probably be the one salesman that provides the information you would need to know as well as present the product in an exceptional way. Ditto it is with advertising copywriting.

To reach the right target audience in the most effective way, a copywriter must be able to artistically place his words at the right areas. This is beneficial as it injects a sense of desire and need in the mind of your audience. To get your advertisement to stand out in the crowd, uniqueness is mandatory.

Only after a constructive decoding of your brief, can you achieve this. With utilizing your visual in perfect harmony, one must blend his title and description. This creates a tempting thought of the entire ad which gets your reader / customer weak in the knees and helpless. That is what you were looking for in the first place, isn’t it?

A copywriter need not be the loudest salesman. It is just the choice of words he uses.

If getting your thoughts and ideas on paper is something you like and you are good at usage of words then it can make your trip a better experience as otherwise simultaneously making it a memorable one. If it’s your job then it can help you earn some money. Travel writing is all about forming up information that captures every nuance of an experience.

Travel writing, in its own is an appealing topic. It gives you the freedom to play with your mind and imagination. Research combined with those brain cells working is the key for travel writing. After all; all the available information is not what we humans only understand.

So get ready to memorize; not information, but experience, with some handy tips that just follow:

1. Remember you are conveying an idea. It may be an experience for you, not for the reader so try to connect. Make an effort to keep the reader interested in your words.

2. Do not overdo it. A person is more interested in knowing about the place in general rather than how the plate in the restaurant looked like or whether the hotel staff had excellent service skills. It is more about describing interesting facts about the destination.
3. Make it simple and easy to understand. And easy for the reader to imagine.

4. Keep it short and useful. Do not end up writing an essay like you were back in school. Make sure you cover all the interesting facts about that place.

5. Keep it alive. Making use of pictures of spot-on moments, the landmarks, the places, specialties, etc can make it more fascinating. Add a little of personal touch by putting in your own views and opinions.

6. Take your first step now.

Happy Walking!!!

If you are a writer that can wrap up an article within 20 minutes flat, great! That’s because you are not doing it the right way.

As writers, we have our content writing and SEO copywriting services open to various companies and business firms. But, do we walk that extra mile to break down the clients brief thoroughly, to gauge his demands?
Copywriters are as common as shells on the sea-shore. But the key element is to be unique. Decode the clients brief in a systematic way to ensure better results. Any good and genuine writer with passion flowing in his veins will undoubtedly understand that a good article or write-up needs time. And no prizes for guessing it would take more than a half hour!
This is what it would take to get you to write an exceptional article or web page –
• Competition is a key aspect for every client. Carefully categorize other businesses that are relevant to your clients industry. After an in-depth research upon their respective strategies and business approach, chalk a method to differentiate your client from the competition.
• Now, you need to identify a tone and flow of all the web pages and service pages for your client and blend it well to suit your client’s profile.
• The advantages and benefits must be the highlight in your content. Be sure you showcase them well within the content. All products and services must be penned down in a way to create a positive impact about the client.
• Think of a catchy headline. Then, rethink again some more till you cracked the most apt one.
• Now you are good to go with a perfect draft.
As it is a content writing service you provide, it should be a compulsion for you to deliver the best. That is indeed the sole reason why clients have knocked on your door, isn’t it?

The word’s ‘youth’ today. Did you know that youth population today is one of the most important population groups of the world? They constitute almost 20 percent of the people inhabiting our very own planet Earth. Be it any field, young men and women bring in a totally new dimension to growth and progress. They may or may not have the purchasing power but have tremendous and maximum influence on the actual buyers. A nation’s youth represents a nation’s future. Today, whatever you write is never missed by those young people who have an ocean of ideas and questions flowing beneath their skin. Every word you write affects their behavior in some way or the other. Thus, while communicating to the youth, it is very necessary to keep your copy fresh and young. Be careful with every word you use as each word triggers amongst them a new set of adrenalin to rush.

Here are some handy tips for a youthful copy:

• Use catchy and colorful phrases; you could make the use of certain slang words but not too much. The key is to sound young yet professional.
• Be colorful, use pictures and give your content a more casual look.
• It is very necessary to keep the interest alive and avoid sounding very monotonous as youngsters get diverted to other things very easily.
• Address them directly and make them feel special. For instance, ‘this offer is only for YOU, MY FRIEND’

• Share your stories that they can read and boast about to their friends. But always tell them how the story matters to them or else they won’t have any interest in your story. Stories that matter to them and things they care about would never go out of demand.
• Keep it short yet convey everything!
• Be friendly in your tone. For example, a mode of talking that a youngster could relate to.
• Write in a way that they think you are one of them and you know best what suits them and what’s in.
• Sound cool but not ‘wannabe’, literally means amateurish
• Add one liners and famous song lines to keep the interest alive but never loose focus.

Keep it youthful, keep entertaining, keep writing

The rules of English grammar have always been a serious and vital issue to address when writing. Formation of sentences cannot be perfect if one does not bring in the correct grammar and punctuations to play. More so, learning the art of punctuating in the right way is what writers need to pay ample heed to.

Let’s take a look into some of the crucial aspects of punctuation.

End Punctuations – In the English language there are three basic ways of ending a sentence – full stop, question mark and exclamation point. But there are only a selective few who understand the true purpose of such punctuations. Although it may be uncomplicated to follow, errors do occur. A sentence that is a statement must be concluded with a full stop. Those sentences that appear in an ‘asking’ tone or an ‘enquiry’ must have a question mark at the end of it. Lastly, only those sentences which need to create an impact, hype, urgency or surprise must be ended with the essential exclamation point. E.g. – I am not coming home. Are you coming along with me? That is fantastic!

Commas – This is the second most common used punctuation and the most versatile of them all. It is used to create a certain break within long phrases in order to emphasise on them. It must only be used often if the need calls for it lest you want to spoil the essence of your phrase. E.g. – He not only is a good singer, but also a good dancer.

Colons and Dashes – These include semicolons, colons and dashes and are punctuations that are used most sparingly. They have a more formal touch to it and are usually marked in order to state particular emphasis on a phrase or line. They also act as a continuation to a couple of sentences in the form of a break. Colons lead you on to another informative sentence. They must be used wisely so as not to break the flow of any phrase or sentence. E.g. – Welcome to Hawaii – the island of colours.

Apostrophe – This is one of the most frequently misused forms of punctuation as most people are not aware of its importance. An apostrophe is usually considered when one needs to eliminate a particular alphabet. E.g. instead of ‘I am’, one can use ‘I’m’. Ensure you use an apostrophe only in those places where an alphabet needs to be omitted and not all the time.

Grammar and punctuations must be strictly adhered to if one needs to be an exceptional writer. Once you learn the art of punctuation placement, everything else follows suit.

After all, it is only a righteous path to great writing.

Writing for the web is not a stroll in the park. As you come across various sections of readers glancing through your articles, it is vital to have a sense of variation in your style from time to time.

The online web is now a prominent means to data access in the world of today. Many online writers fail to realise that there is a particular art of delivering information through articles or blogs. Online writers have to strike a balance between authenticity and reader-friendly writing. Here are 4 of the most fatal errors to be strictly avoided while writing online.

1. Bureaucratic writing – As many of you online writers may tend to figure out the context in which I am framing this; it refers to your style of writing. Remember, online writing is not a formal presentation, neither a lecture of sorts. Learn to add a personal touch to your writing. Readers frown upon a passive, offensive and dictating tone. Keep it upbeat and soft. One need not throw in the entire dictionary just to grab the reader’s attention. On the contrary, that might just repel them. Your article must have a friendly touch to it as well as knowledge-driven.

2. Prolonging text – The basic reason for readers to surf on the internet for information is because it is Quicker and Easier! Readers do not have all the time in the world to wile away reading your article. When a person reads online, the flow is slow and the absorption power of the reader is relatively less. Your text must be short, yet insightful. It should be scannable for the reader to browse through and grasp instantly. Adding links that lead to other related information is another asset to your article. Do not include lengthy text unless the purpose calls for it.

3. Anonymity – What good is a book without knowing the author? The visitors to your site or blog are not only seeking information, but also the source. Many online sites do include the information of their respective field but have no mention about them. They firstly reach you through a random search and are not aware of their source. State in information about your purpose and the nature of your work as a short mention. If you do have a gist of additional information, the chances of your readers revisiting your site would be comparatively higher.

4. The ‘Main Message’ below – As I said before, to online readers, time is of the essence! If they are on the hunt for certain data and information, they prefer to be directly led to it. Although a writer should have a sense of bringing the ‘bigger picture’ in to play, he must not forget about the motive of his article. Ensure you do give a gist of an introduction, but then switch on to the main objective of your article immediately. Readers would not go through the entire page only to find what they were actually looking for right at the end. Get to the point in short time. The longer your article takes to get to the objective, the shorter you cut the attention span of your reader.

Online writing is an art of improvisation. Follow the right online techniques and synchronize them with your brilliant sense in writing. What follows is sheer prosperity!
